Youth Social Action - TheMusicWorks
Our youth social action group is all about making change happen for young people in Gloucestershire

Funded by the BBC Children in Need’s We Move Fund: Youth Social Action, aims to empower Black, Mixed and Asian children and young people, enabling them to use their voice to address issues that matter to them the most.

The We Move Fund: Youth Social Action is part of the broader £4 million Sharing Power (Youth Social Action) Programme, operating in partnership with the #iwill Fund, a £54 million joint investment between The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport.

Youth Social Action presents:

New generation is a collective of young people aged 13 to 18 of Black, Mixed, and Asian heritage who have come together as part of a collaborative youth social action project to raise awareness on the inequalities stemming from hidden racism and underrepresentation in society, with a focus on cultural, music and education sectors.

As part of their mission, New Generation has curated a podcast, mini-documentary, zine, and exhibition, all designed to drive change, and share insights to audiences about the impact of stereotypes on how young people of colour are perceived and judged.

The launch event

New Generation invites you to an evening of music, cultural food, performances, thought-provoking talks, and an inspiring exhibition on Thursday, May 23rd, from 6pm to 9pm at The Music Works, Kings House, 27 St Aldate Street, Gloucester, GL1 1RP.
