About Liha

A serial entrepreneur who grew up above her parents’ shops in Gloucestershire, Liha has 15+ years’ experience in marketing and retail including the Body Shop, Space NK, Fader Magazine and Sony Music. Her passion is shifting culture and making products that bring people joy and fill small gaps in day-to-day life.

Liha set up an art publishing business called Bookish Design at the age of 23 with the help of a Princes Trust Enterprise loan of £1,000 as she couldn’t find a poster of her favourite book covers when she was at University. She went on to negotiate contracts and deals with Penguin Random House and artists such as Ralph Steadman, Milton Glazer and the estate of Vanessa Bell among others. The business was finalist in the South- West Princes Trust Enterprise awards in 2010 and went on to be stocked in Waterstones, The New York Public Library, Shakespeare and Co and Urban Outfitters USA.

After scaling and exiting the business, she decided to finally turn her lifelong love of aromatherapy and African skincare into a brand working from her kitchen on a tiny start up budget. LIHA Beauty has since gone on to raise £1million in funding, and been stocked at Space NK, Goop and Net A Porter among others. US Vogue described the brand as ‘Bottling Africa’s best kept Beauty Secret’ and celebrity fans include FKA Twigs, Lenny Kravitz and Clare Foy.
